Front replacement wings will be great because not only will they save weight (they will be 40-50% lighter) but they can also have a thinner lip edge allowing for lower offset wheels and can also replace the rusty/dented/scratched wings you may have already.

The tailgate is also an area where a decent bit of weight can be saved, even if you are fitting the standard glass screen. It will also make it easier to fit WRC wings to those who have the 3 point spoilers.

The tailgates would be replica's of the stock tailgate so would hinge and lock as a standard one would do, no need for bonnet pins etc, once painted these would look OEM (or OEM+ if the wiper and rear light is deleted!)

The tailgate will seal the same as stock, the boot seal goes around the rear hatch opening so the new boot will simply seal against that.

You will most likely only need one strut to lift it up the hatch once this has been fitted due to the weight saving. I too would prefer to lose the rear wiper hole (haven't had one for ages anyway, they aren't needed) and the third rear light. I'd also ditch the rear Toyota badge.

A tailgate which uses stock hinges and boot latch (for locking etc) that will seal with the factory seals (essentially, a direct copy of the metal one) without the third brake light and a=no hole for the rear wiper will cost approx.

Prices for the initial production run group buy:
Tailgate £200
Front Wings 150
Initial deposit is £175 if you want both tailgate and wings
Later production runs are likely to be more expensive

ETA for this first batch is 4 to 6 weeks from 3 February. i.e. first two weeks in March

If you want to contact the guy direct his email is jbound@hotmail.co.uk

Thanks a lot Don!

So the tailgate arrives without any kind of glass, correct?
Have they the opportunity to pre-install a lexan glass on the tailgate?
Did anyone talk about this on gt4oc ?

Nobody has asked this question. Polycarbonate rear windows are available and the fixing of them to the GRP should be relatively straightforward. Most motorsport preparation people will have had experience of doing this.

You are probably better off sourcing the window separately from someone like Plastics4Performance and fitting it yourself or with the help of a specialist e.g.http://www.plastics4performance.com/Lexan--Makrolon--Perspex-race-and-rally-windows-and-window-kits/TOYOTA----LEXAN--MAKROLON-POLYCARBONATE-WINDOWS/CELICA-ST-205/c-1-288-500-503/
I am not sure that the guy making the tailgate would be interested in fitting the Lexan/Polycarbonate rear window to the tailgate. You really need to prep the raw tailgate with primer and then paint to match your car FINALLY fit the window.

Yes, you're completely right...
I'll wait for his reply though, maybe I can save some shipping costs..
